As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on well-being promotion clinics.

You will support the registered nurse and operating department practitioner in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care and to be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.  

Main duties of the job

To apply for this position you should have NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care. We are ideally looking for someone who has experience of working in a Health Care Assistant role or similar.

About us

Bullingdon is a male category B remand prison based near Bicester. Due to its remand and resettlement function it has a high flow through of men entering and leaving the prison, with construction currently underway to increase the size of the prison, it will soon be one of the biggest remand prisons. The ages of the men vary from 18 90, given this there is a wide breadth of healthcare needs to be met.
