The service we run here is divided into two main areas. Firstly, we run a cataracts and general ophthalmology service in the community at Croft Shifa Health Centre in Rochdale and we also run a mobile-based Macular/AMD service across the North West of England. We were the first community-based service to receive the Outstanding rating from the CQC.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to our Lead Consultant, Karen, you will perform a range of ophthalmic procedures on patients referred to the service. You will be treating both NHS and private patients referred to the service, working in accordance with our protocols and working practices. As well as being able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in elective ophthalmics from your substantive experience you will required to demonstrate a high level of operative skill in some of the following areas: Slit-Lamp examination Gonioscopy Fundoscopy Tonometry Refraction As a UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development.
