As a Specialist Oral Surgeon you will provide a full range of speciality diagnosis (we have a cone beam CT scanner), treatment and care.  We follow national guidance in delivering most procedures under local anaesthetic with or without sedation.  There is the capacity to perform cases under general anaesthetic where appropriate. 

You will be required to build close relations with the administrative team and other surgical colleagues as part of our multidisciplinary team. You will also be required to participate in audit, research and management of the service.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be GDC registered and on the Oral Surgery specialist list.  You should have a broad experience of oral surgery and be capable of administering local anaesthetic or local anaesthetic with IV sedation.

It is also important that you are passionate about patient focused care, have an approachable manner and are willing and able to offer an exemplary level of patient care. 

The post holder will ideally already be fully trained, competent and up to date with required CPD in providing IV sedation.  If it is not a skill currently possessed, the learning of it can be supported once in post.
