Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety and Property Facilitator within the Care, Quality and Governance Team. This is an exciting role that will play a key part in the delivery of Cranstouns Quality and Governance strategy.

Main duties of the job

You will support safety and compliance communication, advise team members on health and safety policies and processes, promote a culture of best practice, help to deliver health and safety objectives and facilitate compliance with relevant legislation and Cranstoun policies.

You will also be a strong role model of the Cranstoun values: ambitious, creative, compassionate, collaborative and respectful. You will have the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.

Job responsibilities

Responsible for:

1. Health and Safety

Assist the Health, Safety and Property Manager to implement relevant procedures and protocols.

Promote good practices to maintain a positive health and safety culture across the organisation.

Coordinate an effective health and safety induction for new team members, including the maintenance of accurate induction records.

Coordinate activities relating to team members who move roles within Cranstoun or leave the organisation.

Assist with risk assessments, reviewing them at appropriate intervals and check that they are used appropriately by team members.

Be responsible for collating and analysing information including the maintenance of health and safety records.

Assist in accident, incident and near miss investigations as required.

Coordinate documentation relating to owner drivers.

Assist in health and safety site visits and audits including analysis of the results.

Coordinate the training of appropriate numbers of first aiders and fire marshals.

Respond to requests for information, data, statistics and progress reports as required.

2. Compliance and Risk

Provide health and safety information for organisation-wide compliance reports.

Assist with processes designed to ensure compliance, such as statutory inspections and maintenance of safety critical equipment.

Assist in monitoring compliance with relevant policies and procedures and raise any shortcomings with the Health, Safety and Property Manager or appropriate management representative.

Assist in collating information and support the preparation of annual monitoring reports.

Assist in procedures associated with the disposal of hazardous waste.

3. Care, Quality and Governance Team

Work collaboratively as part of the Care, Quality and Governance Team.

Attend and participate within Care, Quality and Governance Team meetings, contributing to the planning and implementation of the Quality Governance strategies and action plans.

Attend and participate in supervision as required in line with Cranstoun Policy.

Support the Care, Quality and Governance Team with report writing and presentations relevant to the role to both internal and external audiences.

4. Data Protection and Confidentiality

Ensure activity related to quality and governance is conducted in line with the requirements of UK General Data Protection Regulation and Cranstoun Information Governance Policies

Manage information handled within the role sensitively and confidentially, particularly person identifiable and sensitive business information.

5. General

Undertake any training courses required to fulfil the role.

Author and circulate communications and bulletins relevant to the role as required.

Promote safety and quality governance throughout Cranstoun in a positive way at all times, acting as a point of contact for queries relevant to the role.

Meet deadlines and manage own time effectively without close day-to-day supervision.

Carry out all aspects of the role in line with Cranstoun policies and procedures consulting sources of expertise where required.

Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of yourself, others and resources whilst at work, in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Develop skills and deputise for other team members.

Carry out other duties appropriate to the role, as necessary or requested.
