Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic forward thinking Medical Director. The role will be 4 sessions per week (16 hours) with flexible working as required by both parties - employed post based at Cudmore House, Truro and the salary will be agreed in line with the Medical Director market remuneration.
The Medical Director will be a key member of the executive team and supporting the clinical workforce across the different range of services being offered including, but not limited to Integrated Urgent Care Service, Community Falls Response Service, School Aged Immunisation Service, Primary Care Training Hub, Special Allocation Service and Ambulance/ ED Activity Validation Service.
As Medical Director you will provide:
- System engagement and clinical representation
- Clinical oversight and leadership
- Governance, risk and quality oversight
- Workforce planning and service development advice
You will be a registered medical practitioner who commands strong clinical and personal credibility.
Demonstrating interpersonal, political, conceptual, and public relations skills you will represent the organisation at a senior level to stakeholders, demonstrating awareness of benefits of quality improvement methodology and clinical governance in improving the quality of care provided to patients and ensure this is embedded in medical practice.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide clinical leadership at Kernow Health CIC. This includes but is not limited to:
-Working with the Board and Executive Directors to deliver the Organisational strategies, operating plans, regulatory and contractual requirements.
-Deputise for the Chief Executive Officer, where appropriate and requested.
-Clinical engagement internally and externally to drive patient safety and continuous service improvement.
-Proactively engage with system partners for collaborative delivery
-Clinical voice in key business decisions, representing KHCIC and service users.
-Lead for clinical membership interaction and relationship building
-Responsible for the delivery of any clinical services provided by KHCIC.
-Lead for Controlled drugs (licence holder)
-Clinical lead Director for CQC
-Clinical assurance, structure and delivery
-Service growth
