Main duties of the job

Key reponsibilities of the role include: Lead, motivate, supervise, and train the team within the Materials department. Ensure goods and services are purchased to meet hospital requirements, in line with Nuffield Health's policies and procedures. Develop the department with accountability for achieving cost management and the accurate and timely provision of all management information required. Be the face of Supply Chain and make yourself a key point of contact at site. Ensure the achievement of Supply Chain objectives i.e. target inventory levels/compliancy. Accountability that best practice in inventory management is followed within the department, undertaking, managing and recording planned stock counts in accordance with Nuffield Health Supply Chain policy. Cost reduction and efficiency improvements are implemented and supported. To actively participate in any business process / project / initiative which may impact upon / be impacted by area of responsibility. Consult and meet regularly with departments to discuss any necessary changes due to developments in clinical practice, as well as the wider supply chain. Expand line management responsibility to encompass other roles within the hospital that may support the function of the supplies department.
