Main duties of the job

Lead, motivate, supervise, and train the team within the Materials departments at Nuffield Health Hospitals, either as on a solus or multisite basis (dependent on location). Ensure effective people management including recruitment, development, deployment, performance review, absence management, disciplinary/grievance procedures and overall accountability of the team. Ensure departmental meetings take place and ensure all relevant communication is cascaded effectively. To ensure goods and services are purchased to meet hospital requirements, in line with Nuffield Health's policies and procedures. Department operates a Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00 opening times, whilst ensuring the core hours from 08:00 - 15:00 are achieved. To develop the department with accountability for achieving cost management and the accurate and timely provision of all management information required. To ensure effective business planning and development for the department with input into hospital business planning, improvement and development. Be the face of Supply Chain and make yourself a key point of contact at sites To ensure the achievement of Supply Chain objectives i.e. target inventory levels/compliancy To ensure all audits / reviews of the department and its performance are undertaken and recorded. Action taken in a prompt manner to address any issues raised.

Leicester Hospital Founded in 1969, Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital was originally built from funds raised by the local community and is now one of the leading providers of private healthcare in Leicestershire.     Essential

    • Degree level and/or working towards a Supply Chain qualification would be desirable

    Experience

    Essential

    • Prior experience of working within Supply Chain for a multisite company, would be an advantage
    • Leadership and management experience including team leadership with commercial and finance remit, working to cost control KPIs
    • Strong and effective communicator with an ability to influence and represent the Supplies Function through clear and regular communications to the hospital leadership team
    • Experience with Materials Management inventory systems will be advantageous
