Main duties of the job

Deliver a high standard of patient care and along with the physiotherapy department manager, take clinical standards compliance accountability for the inpatient team. Ensure the department is compliant with all governance standards and participate in clinical audit and quality assurance processes. Support the inpatient team clinically (CPD, clinical service development, clinical 1-2-1's). Develop and maintain close working relationships with the inpatient MDT. Work closely with the consultants to develop evidence based inpatient protocols and care plans. Manage an inpatient caseload of post-operative patients. Ensure high patient satisfaction and address areas of concern. Support recruitment and inductions. Support investigation of relevant clinical complaints in line with the Nuffield Health complaints policy, in collaboration with other stakeholders. Liaise and work closely with the Physiotherapy Department Manager for operational concerns.

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and be able to prioritise and manage a varied workload in an effective and timely manner.
  • Commitment towards the use of evidence-based practice and the ability to demonstrate excellent clinical skills in the chosen field.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as a team player, share best practice and inspire clinical development.
  • Evidence of leadership or management roles previously an advantage, with ongoing CPD reflecting on a wide range of physiotherapy experience with a focus on an orthopaedic caseload and leadership/management.
  • Experience of developing services and delivering quality improvement initiatives.
