Job summary
An opportunity has risen for a proactive Contract Manager to join our Contracting team in Birmingham, working across a portfolio of adult hearing service and optical contracts. The successful applicant will be working closely with, and reporting to, the Legal Director.
The work will range from tendering through to mobilisation and contract management and the successful candidate will be adaptable with a track record of delivering work within scope, time and quality. They will be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing and comfortable using a broad range of information sources to inform decision-making and describe complex problems in straightforward ways to staff at all levels of seniority as well as external stakeholders, such as CCGs and CSUs, Trusts and GPs.

Main duties of the job

Producing
written collateral relating to tender responses and executive board
documentation to an exceptional standard

Rapidly
understanding a brief and translating it into a compelling and clear narrative
·
Project/time
management and work/deadline prioritisation
·
Manage
and switch between a number of ongoing projects
·
Produce
bid content based on input from subject matter experts
·
Manage
the administration of the bid function, including the logging and appropriate
communication of all inbound opportunities
·
Liaise
as necessary with all departments to ensure effective implementation and
mobilisation of all contracts
·
Provide
regular performance updates and reviews on the progress of all contract matters
as required
·
Co-ordination
of quality accreditation

based at Scrivens House in Birmingham. The successful applicant will be able to
confidently liaise with other members of the NHS team and various departments
within the Scrivens organisation to identify opportunities and write bids for
NHS hearing tenders. The role also involves
engagement with ICBs and NHS Trusts via market engagement and other events
during a tender process. The NHS Contracts Manager would also be actively
involved in ongoing contract management via regular meetings with the various
contract stakeholders.
Useful Experience:
Knowledge of NHS contracting models
Experience writing NHS and / or commercial bids
Delivering NHS contracts through bid processes
such as AQP
Working Hours 9.00am 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Office based role at Scrivens House in Edgbaston (next to
Five Ways Railway Station).

- You will also need to be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel. Practical experience in a Procurement/Contracting environment would be of benefit, however drive, passion and a desire for excellence are essential.
- We are looking for demonstrable strength of structured document writing skills, allied to the ability to pivot to respond to reactive requests for creative, compelling content in the forms of bids and tenders. Using a blend of analytical thinking and factual presentation, you will be skilled at writing clear and accurate information (typically in the form of bids/proposals) for Healthcare bodies.
