Main duties of the job
The role is a patient centred role that requires leadership and hands-on inspirational support to the practice and Division to help drive forward the strategy and help develop others as leaders. The postholder will need to confidently evidence key skills such as excellent verbal and written communication skills, substantial experience in staff management, clinical skills, empowering patients to manage their individual health needs, support the strategic direction of the practice, the Division, and the wider organisation. The postholder will work in collaboration with local divisions (including Divisional Boards) and the National Modality Business Support Team to promote and deliver innovative ways of working to meet the strategic aims of the organisation.
The role is not a regular SGP position where decisions made are purely for the practice; the SGP role for Modality Lewisham Division requires innovation, flexibility, and commitment and the postholder will be required to work resourcefully as part of the wider team and help to deliver innovative ways of working to meet the strategic aims of the organisation.
We are one of the largest GP super-partnerships in the UK, serving over 450,000 patients and with a workforce of 1500+. We are unique, we are always looking at ways to improve our delivery of services through the implementation of new and innovative solutions that we can scale across the organisation. Your role as a SGP is to work directly with key stakeholders (internal and external) to help us to harmonise ways of working and improve working practices to improve patient and staff satisfaction. This is a role that will equip you with a portfolio of working at scale to make sustainable changes within Primary Care.
All employees are welcomed to take enrol in our employee benefits scheme and NHS pension scheme. We are committed to developing our people through education and career pathways and who align to our organisational values of CARE.

You will love this job if you have a passion for providing excellent patient care, thinking outside the box, are innovative and are driven to find and implement business-focussed solutions to improve the way we deliver care in General Practice. You will be part of a national partnership where there is resilience from a large team of GP Partners to support where it is needed but also who are there to work closely with on key decisions that shape the way in which we deliver patient care and influence service improvement. We strongly encourage GP specialities and have opportunities for teaching and training.
You will not enjoy this job if you are seeking a job that purely focuses on seeing patients, and you are unable to hold others to account where quality falls short of the desired level.
If you feel this is the ideal career advancing opportunity for you and you want to rise to the challenge of this opportunity, we welcome an application for you to join our growing team of likeminded people.
As part of recruitment to the Modality Partnership, we will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters so that we can manage individual and environmental risks. We will offer support to those who may be undecided about vaccinations. Some vaccinations for certain roles are mandatory, and you will be asked to provide evidence of this where there is a mandatory requirement.
