Job summary
Make a real difference to autistic people across Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.
In this role, youll provide needs-led support and tailored interventions to individuals accessing the BSW Adult Autism Service, part of the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Pathway.
Based in Bath, youll work flexibly - visiting locations across B&NES, Swindon and Wiltshire as needed, while also benefiting from opportunities forremote working.
Main duties of the job
- Conduct welcome calls with individuals referred for diagnostic assessment, gathering brief background information and identifying any required reasonable adjustments.
- Gather information from service users, families, and significant others to support the multidisciplinary teams clinical decisionmaking.
- Ensure service users and families can access recommended advice, resources, and support, offering additional help to those who have not yet engaged.
- Respond to service user enquiries and work collaboratively with partner organisations, including VCFSE agencies, to ensure the right support is in place at the right time.
- Promote a needsled, think family, traumainformed approach in all aspects of care.
- Support service users and families to better understand autism and identify any needs that may affect their ability to access appointments within the pathway.
- Assist the team with organising, monitoring, and delivering appropriate followup arrangements.

Essential
- Level 4 qualification in a relevant area.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, observation, and empathy.
- Confident in negotiation, problemsolving, and prioritising workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to record information accurately and sensitively.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in working with Autistic people.
- Experience building effective relationships with staff from other agencies or organisations.
- Confident using IT for tasks such as report writing and communication.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism and/or ADHD
Desirable
- Experience working in mainstream or specialist education settings.
- Experience delivering training.
- Experience contributing to neurodevelopmental diagnostic assessments for children, young people, or adults.
