As a Band 5 nurse in the health visiting team, within HCRG Care GroupBusiness Unit 10youll join a team who are focused on improving the health and wellbeing of local children, predominantly between the age of0-5 yearsand recently received a good CQC rating.
Our UNICEF Baby Friendly Accredited Health Visiting Team is expanding!
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Band 6 SCPHN Health Visitors and family wellbeing practitioners (CFWP).
As the Health Visiting Staff Nurse provide preventative and supportive healthcare to children and families in Wiltshire. This includes the identification, monitoring and provision of targeted support to vulnerable children and those whose welfare and safety may be at risk. You will play a vital role in ensuring that every child gets the best start in life!
Support and development are at the forefront of our team. A full induction programme will support you in transitioning to this role as well as support and encouragement to apply for the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course.

Main duties of the job
As a Staff Nurse for the Health Visiting Team in Wiltshire you will:
- Participate in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme by using an outcome approach to deliver brief interventions for vulnerable families
- Support with behaviour and emotional wellbeing as well as deliver family drop-in sessions
- Work in partnership with children and families to identify any health needs at the earliest opportunity
- Work in partnership with Early Years Services in the community.
- To support Infant feeding and parent infant relationships by adhering to the Baby Friendly Initiative Standards
- You will also supervise the CFWP by offering them support and guidance
You will also be able to attend regular sessions for supervision, clinical, safeguarding and management created to ensure you feel supported and able to share experiences to learn from peers and develop your own skills and knowledge.

The Ideal Candidate
You will be a registered nurse, midwife or mental health nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-graduate experience and have a caring and approachable demeanour in order to gain the trust and respect of local families and children.
You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
Hold a Full UK Drivers License and have access to a car/vehicle
