Job summary
As a Orthopaedic Interface Service Admin Lead within our Orthopaedic Interface Service (OIS) team, we provide assessments and management for a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions across our three bases located at St Martins Hospital, Keynsham Health Centre, Paulton Hospital and a satellite centre at a local GP Practice. The administration team is responsible for booking appointments across these sites and ensuring efficient administrative support for the service. The Team Lead (31 hours per week) oversees administrative functions of the OIS and manages a small team.
Main duties of the job
Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of the OIS administration team, ensuring smooth, efficient service delivery and high standards of communication and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Management

Oversee daily operations of the admin team, managing referrals, appointment scheduling, and patient enquiries.

Handle calls and emails promptly, using initiative while escalating complex matters appropriately.
Leadership and Supervision

Lead and support a team of medical secretaries and administrators, holding regular team meetings and performance reviews.

Guide professional development through mentoring, training, and annual appraisals.
Communication

Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and external partners.

Manage sensitive information with care and respond to informal complaints when needed.
Service Improvement

Identify and implement improvements to administrative processes.

Contribute to service development and monitor performance against key targets.
Professional Development

Maintain high standards through ongoing CPD and personal development planning.
