Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with previous experience working within a Learning Disabilities service to join our small and welcoming multi-disciplinary Learning Disability and Autism team, primarily based in Swindon. This role supports adults with diagnosed learning disabilities whose needs cannot be met through mainstream services. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care and services to support individuals and teams. Working within a collaborative environment, you will provide essential services tailored to meet the unique needs of those we serve. Some travel across the BSW patch may be required so willingness to travel and a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work together in the team to provide comprehensive, specialist SLT services to culturally diverse service users with a learning disability, autism and co-occurring conditions. Service users will have complex needs, including mental health problems, physical health issues and may display distressed behaviours/ behaviours that challenge. As a Speech and Language Therapist your responsibilities will include: Delivering compassionate, outcome-focused services in line with the roles requirements. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve key performance indicators and ensure high-quality service delivery. Identifying and addressing service needs at the earliest opportunity and implementing appropriate interventions. Working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service effectiveness. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring effective communication with relevant parties. Adhering to professional standards, policies, and regulatory frameworks to support organisational goals.
