As a pivotal member of the team, you will lead in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of developmental conditions, providing timely and evidence-based interventions tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Your expertise in prescribing medications and treatments, coupled with your ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in health, education, and social care, will ensure comprehensive, integrated care plans.

Your BaseClinical work will be based in one of the four quadrants of Surrey, with exact locations determined in consultation to align with availability and your preferences. Flexibility to discuss alternative bases and clinical patches within Surrey is available. Main duties of the job

  • Perform detailed assessments of children with developmental and neurodevelopmental conditions, integrating input from families, schools, and professionals.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications within the scope of practice, ensuring safety, efficacy, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Educate families on prescribed treatments, including purpose, side effects, and outcomes.
  • Diagnose and manage developmental conditions (e.g., ADHD, autism, learning disabilities) using evidence-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to develop personalised, holistic care plans.
  • Communicate complex clinical information effectively, involving families in care decisions.
  • Advocate for childrens needs, ensuring their preferences shape care and interventions.
  • Address physical, emotional, and social impacts of developmental conditions, offering tailored advice and referrals.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and contribute to multi-agency plans as required.
  • Conduct risk assessments, prioritising the safety and well-being of children and young people.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and document prescribing decisions clearly.
  • Stay current with prescribing practices, emerging evidence, and relevant guidelines in developmental paediatrics.
