Job summary
We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Reablement Team based in Bath! You will receive Agenda for Change Band 6 Salary and Terms and Conditions as well as NHS Pension.
The Reablement Service is a short-term service which supports and works with people, either in their own home or in Residential or Nursing Homes aiming to maximise and maintain independence through the provision of rehabilitation and support.
This role will involve travel around Bath and North East Somerset area so will require a Full UK Driving License and access to a car.
You will join a supportive and multi-disciplinary team consisting of Reablement Therapy Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Care Co-Ordinators and Administrative support. The team also works closely with local GPs and other community services such as District Nurses and Social Workers.
This is a Part-time position (22.5 hours a week) based at our St Martins Hospital, Bath. The service hours are 8.00 until 22.00 but Core hours for Therapists are typically 8.30-16.30 with 8.30-18.00 and 8.30-14.30 once weekly.
The service is a seven-day week service, and all staff are expected to work weekends and bank holidays within a team rota. We also pay enhancements for unsocial hours worked inline with AfC rates.
Main duties of the job
As a Reablement Physiotherapist you will:
- Carry out physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment with patients with diverse presentations and a range of physical and psychological conditions
- Hold responsibility for own case load working with rehabilitation therapy workers to deliver therapeutic programmes as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide effective supervision to junior physiotherapists, students, Reablement therapy workers and administrators within the team
- Liaise with family members/relatives and carers and other third-party organisations
- Attend and participating in team meetings and in-service training
- Receive support from the Physiotherapy Professional Lead and are own dedicated Reablement Learning and Development Lead Clinician
