Keynsham Evening Community Nurse

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Keynsham service as a EveningCommunity Nurse based at our Keynsham Health Centre location.

You will join a caring and supportive team of Community Nurses and Healthcare Assistants where individual development and progression is key and teamwork is at the centre. The service is located right (at the end of) the high-street with a Sainsburys and Tesco situated nearby. The service also has its own dedicated car park.

This is a part time opportunity working 16.5 hourswith service hours typically being17:00-22:30 across 3 shifts.Your focus will be to offer advice and support to housebound service users in their own homes to promote their well-being and independence alongside an experienced healthcare assistant.

We are a child-friendly team, and this role is perfect for balancing work and family life. As the role starts at 5pm, there is flexibility for school runs and other commitments.

Main duties of the job

When I joined the community I assumed the majority of my workload would be wound care but its quite the opposite, my skills have widened massively and my confidence has grown. I love the variety each day brings and being able to see the positive changes I can make to our service users.

As an Evening Community Nurse for the Keynsham team, you will mainly cover the Keynsham and Saltford area, as well as a few villages.

To complete the duties of the role a Drivers license and access to a car is necessary.

As a Community Nurse you will:

• Responsible for contributing to the holistic assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care to patients within their own homes.
• To develop and implement programmes of care
• Advise and recommend treatment byliaisingwith GP's and other specialists within the multidisciplinary team
• To take charge in the absence of senior grade staff
• Administration of medication s/c, im, pr, IV, transdermal, oral, controlled drugs, along with palliative care, wound care and IV therapy.
