Job summary

HCRG Care Group are currently recruiting Speech and Language Therapists to join our dynamic Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team. The Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Service is based at St Martins Hospital working within a range of health and education settings across Bath and North East Somerset.

This role is working within the schools-based service. This service provides speech and language therapy to school aged pupils in mainstream schools as part of the Speech and Language Inclusion Partnership (SLIP).

You would be working as part of a friendly and supportive team who meet regularly and offer a broad range of experience and expertise. We have a robust supervision structure to ensure every therapist can meet their full potential and achieve their learning goals. As a team we are committed to providing a high quality service with children and young people at the heart of our service delivery.

It is essential for candidates to have a full UK driving license plus their own vehicle to deliver our services across the county. Candidates are also required to have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent alongside registration with the Health Professions Council and be a member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

Main duties of the job

Working collaboratively with colleagues across health and education service,you willbe responsible for:

  • Assessment and differential diagnosis of a childs speech, language, and communication needs
  • Working directly with children and young people with a wide range of speech, language, and communication difficulties
  • Providing advice regarding the management and care of children with speech, language, and communication difficulties including training for families and professionals
  • Communication about complex condition related information from assessment to clients, carers, families, and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professions
  • Ensuring patients and their parents/carers are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their care
  • Demonstrating clinical effectiveness by use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures
  • Managing and prioritising complex caseloads
  • Delivering our high service standards, sharing bestpractice, and actively improving the way we work to ensure Service Users and their families receive the best care possible.
  • This post demands excellent communication and organisational skills. There will be opportunities for you to devise and deliver training and to provide specialist support and advice to parents/carers and the wider childrens workforce.

You will bea qualified Speech and Language Therapist who has strong communication and organisation skills, and a flexible approach to ensureyou deliver positive experiences to children and young people and their families.We also welcome applications from students in their final year.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
