Job summary

Dermatology opportunity in Grimsby, we are looking for a specialist dermatologist to come and join our North & North East Lincolnshire team.

As a Specialist Dermatologistyou will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive skin examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients of all ages.
  • Providing expert care for a wide range of dermatological conditions, including but not limited to acne, psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer, and more.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dermatology through continuous education and research.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

Our community-based Dermatology Service changes lives by transforming health and care, so that everyday communities, colleagues, and those who use our services feel how we bring our values of Care, Think, Do to life: how we recognise achievements, support colleagues to implement their ideas for improving services and celebrate our success.

We are a Community Dermatology Service providing dermatology care for an area of North and Northeast Lincolnshire Dermatology. We provide a wide range of dermatology services from General, Patch Testing, Biologics, Phototherapy including a weekly Local Skin MDT.

You will join our dedicated dermatology team which includes consultants, Associate Specialists, Specialist Nurses including a Skin Cancer CNS.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the post will include:

  • Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service with the highest standard of care
  • To provide high quality care to all patients attending the Dermatology Service
  • Keep patients informed about their condition and involve them in the decision making of their treatment
  • Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out from time to time by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply with the GMCs guidance on Good Medical Practice as amended or substituted from time to time.
  • Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with the HCRG Care Group framework, with at least a minimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCC time may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidate and changing requirements of the service. For example, additional leadership duties or tasks.
  • Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
