Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Keynsham service as a Twilight Community Nurse based at our Keynsham Health Centre location.
You will join a caring and supportive team of Community Nurses and Healthcare Assistants where individual development and progression is key and teamwork is at the centre. The service is located right (at the end of) the high-street with a Sainsburys and Tesco situated nearby. The service also has its own dedicated car park.
We are open to part time hours with service hours typically being 17:00-22:30pm Monday to Friday. Your focus will be to offer advice and support to housebound service users in their own homes to promote their well-being and independence alongside an experienced healthcare assistant. This is the perfect role for balancing family life with work.
We offer an individually tailored induction programme to suit your needs and interests and to help you develop your skills to be the best they can be, as well as preceptorships for newly qualified nurses along with other Continuous Professional Development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
When I joined the community I assumed the majority of my workload would be wound care but its quite the opposite, my skills have widened massively and my confidence has grown. I love the variety each day brings and being able to see the positive changes I can make to our service users.
As a Twilight Community Nurse for the Keynsham team, you will mainly cover the Keynsham and Saltford area, as well as a few villages.
To complete the duties of the role a Drivers license and access to a car is necessary.
As a Community Nurse you will:
- Responsible for contributing to the holistic assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care to patients within their own homes.
- To develop and implement programmes of care
- Advise and recommend treatment by liaising with GP\'s and other specialists within the multidisciplinary team
- To take charge in the absence of senior grade staff
- Administration of medication s/c, im, pr, IV, transdermal, oral, controlled drugs, along with palliative care, wound care and IV therapy.
