Job summary

Widnes Highfield Health GP Federation is looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the operational and business management of our company. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for delivering high-quality care, driving service improvements and leading transformative change within the healthcare sector.

You will be reporting into the Director of Operations and will be supported by a fantastic team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency of the business, working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to meet national standards, performance targets, and local healthcare priorities.

As a key leader, you will have the chance to develop innovative solutions and play a central role in the delivery of patient-centred care. Your leadership will help drive the integration of services within the wider healthcare system, enhancing both patient experience and safety while contributing to the sustainability and growth of the services we offer.

Main duties of the job

Support in delivering the vision, culture, and values of the company, promoting engagement, innovation, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

Provide leadership and strategic direction for services and future development and transformation.

Lead and manage operational delivery for all services, ensuring effective and efficient service provision in line with performance targets.

Collaborate with clinical leads and other key stakeholders to ensure excellent delivery of our services.

Drive financial performance, including managing budgets, cost control, and delivering on financial and activity targets.

Liaise with the Board of Directors and external stakeholders to support strategic planning and policy development.

Ensure compliance with clinical governance and risk management frameworks, addressing complaints and incidents effectively

Produce and analyse periodic reports and insight and adjust operations accordingly to better meet company goals

Promote positive and effective working relationships with commissioners, other health care providers and other key partners to support an integrated approach to high quality patient care.

Ensure a great communication strategy and rhythm is in place across the business.

To line manage service leads and supervisors. Coaching, developing, monitoring and supporting them to deliver their KPIs and the overall business objectives.

To role model, promote and set key structures for a great culture across the business

About us

Widnes Highfield Health is a GP Federation. We are a well-established Primary and Community services provider and have been delivering services for the population over the last 15 years. We do not stand still and excel in innovation and constantly looking for ways to grow our services to support our local community, so much so that we are currently shortlisted for a HSJ award for work on transformation of CRM/long term conditions.

We are based at Highfield Hospital, which was the former maternity site in Highfield Road, Widnes. The building has been extensively refurbished to provide excellent patient and staff, clinical and administrative facilities.

Job responsibilities

  • Remain updated on local and national priorities and contractual and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements including CQC standards.
  • Contribute to the development of Highfield Healths strategy by formulating, communicating, and delivering the Companys objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the Companys performance against agreed key performance indicators and key lines of enquiry.
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
  • Be a key positive influence and implementer of the Directors business plan, ensuring delivery of strategic objectives and business targets
  • Lead workforce development, ensuring that staffing resources meet the needs of the business and support professional growth and retention
  • Line manage service leads and supervisors. Coaching, developing, monitoring and supporting them to deliver their KPI's and therefore the overall business objectives.
