Job summary

Bespoke clinical services are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative pharmacy technician to join the team at the hub in Halifax. The appropriate candidate will have the drive and commitment to provide high quality care to patients and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient medicines management. If you are looking for a challenging role in which you can support patients with their healthcare needs, as an integral part of a GP practice and PCN team, then this role is for you. You will manage your own workload and assist the practice team with prescribing issues, and process clinical tasks, letters and hospital discharge summaries.

Main duties of the job

The pharmacy technician will aid the medicines management team across the PCN and will also be involved in PCN specific workloads.

Job responsibilities

To complete medicines reconciliation on transfer of care which includes hospital discharge summaries

Support the practice with achieving impact and investment (IIF) targets

Liaise with dispensary teams across the PCN to improve systems

Participate in practice based audits

Provide assistance in the appropriate monitoring and management of prescribing and to liaise with the medicines management team at the CCG

To support the PCN Pharmacists with providing medication reviews

Providing support to the practice staff in relations to medication queries and advising on alternate medications where there are shortages

Duties will vary from time to time under the direction of the Partners / Practice Manager and BCS management dependent on current and evolving PCN workload and staffing levels.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ3 Pharmacy services (or equivalent)
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General
  • Pharmaceutical Council
  • Evidence of CPD

Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of prescribing and medicines management issues
  • Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups
  • Post qualification experience (Minimum 1 Year)

Desirable

  • NHS Primary Care Experience
  • SystmOne/Emis clinical system knowledge
