Job summary

At The Marbrook Centre we are recruiting for an Occupational Therapist with experience in Neurological Rehabilitation to work closely with the current Occupational Therapy team and wider MDT. The post holder will be working in a dynamic environment providing comprehensive assessment and high quality treatment programmes to individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with your patients and utilise a wide array of resources and up to date technology. There will be opportunities to run/attend regular training and to provide supervision to assistants and students. CPD is actively encouraged through regular supervision, weekly in service training and funding provision for external courses. Working at The Marbrook Centre you will have access to a wide range of resources to use as part of individuals rehabilitation such as: - Well-equipped Therapy Gym - Therapy Kitchen space - Rehabilitation training/transitional living flat - Splinting equipment and resources - Wheelchair accessible vehicles for community access/rehabilitation - iPads and other IT equipment.

Main duties of the job

The Marbrook Centre holds three services within the one building; - Eden - Inpatient Rehab Unit - Providing intensive rehabilitation for people post-stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and other acute neurological conditions - Bray - Long-term Nursing Unit – Providing nursing care for those with long-term neurological conditions - Mayfield - Dementia Unit – Providing residential care for those living with dementia. The Ocupational Therapy team input daily into the inpatient rehabilitation unit; providing intensive rehabilitation for around 6-8 weeks, and provide reviews and advice to those on the long-term nursing unit.

The centre provides intensive rehabilitation for people post stroke, ABI, spinal injury and many other conditions.
