Job summary

We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist with experience in Neurological Rehabilitation to work closely with the current Occupational Therapy team and wider MDT. The post holder will be working in a dynamic environment providing comprehensive assessment and high quality treatment programmes to individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with your patients and utilise a wide array of resources and up to date technology. There will be opportunities to run/attend regular training and to provide supervision to assistants and CPD is actively encouraged.

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapist working at Marbrook you will be a key member of the wider MDT. You will manage a diverse caseload of patients through their rehabilitation journey. This will involve treatment intervention/planning, goal setting, attendance at review meetings, liaison with families and also with external professional such as CCG's, Consultants and Social workers. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment within which individuals can feel empowered to achieve their goals.

Job responsibilities

Purpose of role: This post holder will be primarily responsible for designing and delivering rehabilitation programmes and supporting and coaching staff to achieve desired outcomes. As this is primarily a clinical/care role, this post holder will have day to day contact and involvement with residents, their families and visiting professionals Overall Responsibilities: To take responsibility for ensuring therapeutic programmes are designed, delivered and evaluated. To ensure all personal rehabilitation plans are reviewed monthly, or more frequently as clinical needs dictate. To contribute to the rehabilitation review meetings programme. To produce high quality written reports and rehabilitation documentation. To participate in the recruitment of the rehabilitation service staff team as required. To train, mentor and coach support staff. General Responsibilities: To keep accurate and clear documentation in line with sector specific and legal requirements. To participate in audits as required. To keep abreast of new developments in the profession, and to bring innovation and creative input to the role, for consideration and discussion with line manager. To attend all mandatory and developmental training courses relevant to the post and as agreed with the line manager. To work in accordance with all relevant legislation e.g. CQC standards, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty, Health & Safety at Work etc, and in line with The Marbrook Centres policies and procedures at all times, contributing (if and when appropriate) to the revision of these documents. To take an active role in own personal and professional development. To act in line with Health and Safety at Work legislation and requirements and in line with The Marbrook Centres approach to Health and Safety at all times.
