Job summary

At Thorpes Physiotherapy an exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, ambitious and experienced Physiotherapist to join our MSK team. This is an ideal opportunity for a Physiotherapist wanting to maximise their clinical development and progress their leadership skills in a supportive, friendly and welcoming environment. The role will have a strong clinical bias alongside leading our small MSK team. You will be able to utilise modern technology into both assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.

This role requires managing an interesting and varied clinical caseload, consisting of NHS patients, private patients and Orthopaedic consultant referrals. You will line manage and mentor junior colleagues.

The applicant should have at least five years of post-graduate experience, including 3 years of MSK Outpatients.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be required to assess, treat and manage an interesting and varied MSK caseload, taking the lead with more complex cases.
  • You will need to have excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment skills.

  • You will need to line manage more junior members of staff, including setting objectives, clinical training sessions and problem patient sessions.
  • You will be in charge of organising the IST timetable and actively contribute to these sessions.
  • You will be expected to keep abreast of current MSK developments and disseminate information to the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Develop treatment plans and packages of care based around patient goals and ensure they are completed through regular communication and follow up.
  • You need to be an excellent team player.

You will receive regular IST with the rest of our team (which includes Advanced Practitioners) and one-to-one support by the Director who is a Course Principle and Chair of Education of the Society Of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
