Your Role
Job Title: Specialist/Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 6 equivalent)
Service Line:Female Inpatient Mental Health - Adults (Personality Disorder/Complex Trauma)
Salary: £39,015 - £41,175 per annum (DOE)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Full time)
Responsible to: Lead Occupational Therapist/Regional Lead Occupational Therapist/Hospital Manager
Summary of the site
Cygnet Alders Clinicis a 20 bed rehabilitation service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex trauma needs, based in Gloucestershire. It provides a specialist psychologically informed personality disorder pathway, across three living areas:
-Severn Ward- Focuses on assessment and stabilisation.
-AvonWard - Where service users move as they engage and progress with their treatment pathway.
-Coln Ward-Focuses on transitioning to the community.
At Alders we use trauma-informed care and treatment and we ar e at an exciting junction where we are looking at how we can incorporate VdTMoCA into the Occupational Therapy model.

At Alders we have a substantive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) comprising of Psychiatry, Speciality Doctors, Nursing, Psychology, Art Psychotherapy, Occupational Therapy & Activity Co-ordinators.
Small caseload, 20 bedded service.
The Occupational Therapy team consists of a Lead Occupational Therapist, a Specialist Occupational Therapist & an Occupational Therapy Assistant. The team work closely with Activity Coordinators and the Psychology team, to provide a therapeutic timetable which focuses on rehabilitation, recovery and progressive return to the community.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our Occupational Therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. Service line meetings take place every other month, and are a great place to network and seek support from other Occupational Therapists working in similar setting across the country. Regional meetings a re also held on a quarterly basis which allow you to link up with other Occupational Therapists in your area, these are led by the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist and include elements of CPD, training and peer support too.
We ensure our Occupational Therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
Cygnet Occupational Therapy directorate offer CPD and development opportunities to further enhance your skillset and knowledge in specialist areas, from group therapy to sensory integration, MOHO and VdTMoCA.
