Job description

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate, focused and experienced Clinical Manager (RMN/RNLD)to join us at our Cygnet Acer Clinic.

Working hours will be work Monday - Friday (9am - 5:00pm including taking part with On Call).

Cygnet Acer Clinic is a 28 bed service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs or acute mental health needs.

Care is provided in a therapeutic environment, with a level of security matched to individual needs. The aim of the treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialisation programme is to prepare the people in our care either for transfer to conditions of lesser security, or for a life in the community.

Our team is working hard to create a positive working environment with patient-centred care and a focus on service improvement.

Alongside the medical teams, the service has multiple other departments psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and social work all of which the Clinical Manager oversees. They are supported by a strong administrative team including HR, ward clerks and medical secretaries.

The Opportunity...

To provide direction and contemporary initiatives to drive and embed effective clinical practice and leadership for care delivery. The post holder would ensure delivery of an optimum level of clinical and therapeutic care together with ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards and delivering against key performance indicators. As a member of the Senior Management, the role holder will play a key part in leading and delivering the hospital strategy, providing operational and clinical leadership to the wider staff group in support of the Hospital Manager

You will have

  • Experience of being a qualifed Senior Mental Health Nurse with minimum 2 years managerial experience.
  • Significant experience of leading teams and/or senior practice-based work
  • Experience of interpreting and analysing complex information and managing complex circumstances.
  • Partnership working with other statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Experience of setting, monitoring and evaluating standards for high quality care
  • Experience of preparing and presenting reports at senior management level
  • Ability to change practice, culture and outcomes across professional boundaries
  • Experience of setting therapeutic boundaries with patients who exhibit challenging and high risk behaviours that require advanced interventions to enable effective de-escalation.
  • Ideally experience of working with patients within the service lines or similar.
  • Experience of working with partner organisations, commissioners and external stakeholders
  • Able to enthuse and inspire others using advanced communication, presentation skills
