Salary £27,250 - £31,000

Hours Full-time (40 hours a week) Monday Friday

Cygnet Health Care have been providing a national network of specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist or Trainee Forensic Psychologist to join our psychology team at Cygnet Storthfield House.

Cygnet Storthfield House

Cygnet Storthfield House is a 22 bed specialist high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men, in Derbyshire. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery.

By combining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach, we deliver high-quality care using our unique 4 stage model of care for our mental health high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) services.

What the role will look like

We are looking for someone who would like to join the psychology department on to help support and enhance the psychological provisions for patients at Cygnet Storthfield House. The assistant psychologist/trainee forensic psychologist would assist the psychologist in:

  • Contributing to psychological assessment and treatment by scoring psychometrics and developing formulations under supervision
  • Contributing to data collection and risk analysis
  • Contributing to risk assessments such as STARTs and HCR-20s
  • Contributing towards planning, delivering and evaluating group programmes and individual sessions
  • Administration, audit, research and service development
  • Contribution towards development and delivery of training
  • Engagement in clinical supervision

Were looking for someone who has

  • A BPS accredited BSc (Hons) degreein Psychology (2:1 or above)
  • A BPS accredited MSc degree in Psychology (preferable)
  • Experience of workingin health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role
  • An enthusiasm forlearning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
