Summary of the site

Cygnet Bostall House is a 6 bedded hospital on a spacious detached property, surrounded by beautiful parks and gardens in the heart of Abbey Wood, London.

Individuals have a choice of lounges and communal areas to relax in, an activities of daily living (ADL) kitchen, as well as the benefit of 2 large gardens. When an individual comes to Cygnet Bostall House, we find out how they would like to personalise their room and we support them to make it their own.

We also like to find out what they like to do and what interests them. Service users are supported to plan menus, shop and prepare food to increase their daily living skills in readiness for moving on.

Main duties of the job

Clinical: You and your team will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for 6 people. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team (on site) in a coordinated way to support each service user develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction. You will promote the importance of enabling people to do the things they want, need or are expected to do to support them being well in life.

Leadership: You would report directly to the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist. You would also hold leadership and management responsibilities of the Occupational Therapy service, providing supervision for the Occupational Therapy Assistant at Bostall House. You will be required to share leadership responsibility and consistently contribute to the site wide Occupational Therapy provision.

This role includes opportunities for learning, development and research, supported by a robust appraisal and supervision structure based on RCOTs Career Development Framework.
