Job summary

Main duties of the job

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work as an autonomous clinician, providing specialist assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction. You will hold supervisory responsibility for others, and take a leadership role in specific projects. An integral part of this role will be supporting student education within the team.

Located in the village of Rhymney, amid the beautiful Welsh countryside, Cygnet St Teilo House is a 23-bed service specialising in high dependency inpatient rehabilitation for women in a safe and comfortable environment. Cygnet St Teilo House has been designed to provide an environment that promotes recovery for women with its focus on space, personal privacy and dignity.

Cygnet St Teilo House is located in South Wales in a beautiful village called Rhymney. We provide a homely environment that has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery. We are dedicated to understand, stabilise and break the traumatic cycles of relapse that can impact an individuals life.

By combining a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach, we deliver high-quality care using our unique 4 stagemodel of carefor our mental health high dependency inpatient rehabilitation services.

There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing staff. The OT Team consists of 2 qualified OTs and 2 Therapy Coordinators.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
