Main duties of the job

This role will be working at Cygnet Hospital Bury Forestwood, on Primrose Ward. Primrose Ward is our CAMHS PICU ward for young people aged between 12 and 18. You will also cover on calls for the whole of Cygnet Hospital Bury. Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Assess, examine, take histories, diagnose & treat patients/service users
  • Monitor patients/service users & ensure implementation of medical decisions
  • Participate in & modify treatment plans & therapeutic programmes
  • Prescribe & review treatment under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings & ensure that up-to-date clinical information is available at meetings.

Were looking for someone who is...

  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Experienced within a mental health setting & able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation & codes of practice
  • An excellent clinical decision maker, with sound judgement & ability to manage risk
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear comprehensive medical notes
  • Preferably MRCPsych or equivalent & approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
