Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Highly Specialist SLT (Band 7) to lead our SLT service in Scotland under the guidance of the Director of SLT and Deputy Operations Director. The team support with a learning disability and /or autistic people. Some individuals may have physical and mental health needs.

The post itself will be provide 2 days per week of SLT supervision, support and leadership to two band 5 SLTs working across a range of services. You will be expected to oversee the eating, drinking feeding and swallowing caseload these locations. Expenses for travel and accommodation are payable in line with policy.

Job Role:

As a Highly Specialist or Lead Speech and Language Therapist (Scotland), you will have a unique opportunity to lead on the delivery of an evidence-based SLT service. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that other members of the SLT team deliver an effective and safe service through the provision of high quality SLT assessment and intervention to ensure optimal independence is obtained. You will hold a caseload in the field of eating, drinking, feeding and/or swallowing needs. You will empower others through a range of approaches, promote good practice and provide clinical supervision to two full time SLT working within across the service.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with:

  • Strong clinical and professional skills
  • Working experience/strong interest in the field of Learning Disabilities /Autism Spectrum Disorders / Mental Health Conditions.
  • Knowledge of key national drivers.
  • Qualification in Dysphagia management essential
  • Evidence of providing clinical supervision.
  • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and passion.
