Job summary

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists.

Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists

Main duties of the job

Cygnet Sedgley House and Cygnet Sedgley Lodge offer a 34 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men with complex needs.

The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity.

Individuals may be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) or informal. Primary diagnoses include, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder or Depression.

Individuals may also present with complex comorbidities, such as substance misuse, behaviours that challenge and forensic histories. Sedgley House is a 20 bed service which primarily focuses on assessment and engagement.

When appropriate patients then move to Sedgley Lodge which offers more independence and focuses more on community engagement.

There is also the option to step down to 12 Woodcross Street a beautifully appointed semi-detached house next door one step closer to full community reintegration.

There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing staff. You will be supported by a Band 5 OT & 4 Activity Co-ordinators across site.
