You'll be working 40 hours a week in Cygnet Bury Hospital. Cygnet Hospital Bury provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including specialist deaf services and CAMHS provision for adolescents.

Main duties of the job

Your Day-to-Day:

To provide a BSL/English Interpreting service for both staff & Deaf patients with complex linguistic and communication needs for the following; 

  •  Key worker nurse sessions 
  •  Community/Morning/Debrief meetings 
  •  Understanding Care Plans
  •  Psychological & Occupational Therapy sessions 
  •  Access to Legal Rights & Meetings with Legal Representatives
  •  BSL to written English translation for Staff meetings, focus groups & reflective practise CPA meetings
  •  Taking telephone and email bookings for Interpreter provision 
  •  Liaising with members of the clinical team regarding the provision of Interpreting sessions

We are looking for someone who is

  • A Qualified member of the NRCPD or similar register.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated & passionate about Mental health with experience in the field.
  • Experienced at translating from BSL into written English in the form of clinical reports.

  • A strong team player with a genuine desire to help others

  • Able to work flexibly in a dynamic environment.
