Job summary

As one of our Chefs in Schoen Clinic York, you will provide a catering service to the patients, service users and staff at York. You will deliver the therapeutic menu designed by the Dietetic team to patients and the staff supporting these meals.

Main duties of the job

As part of your role, you will complete general preparation of meals and snacks, following the principles of food hygiene and assist in the serving of meals to the patients in the designated dining area.

You will ensure that food is prepared and served following recipes and menus written by the Dietetic team and prepare and provide food for patients with dietary restrictions as a result of religious, cultural, allergens or intolerance.

You will ensure that current hygiene regulations are adhered to and all relevant documentation is completed; paying particular attention to temperatures of food during storage, preparation, cooking and service. You will also be responsible for stock taking, which will take place daily, prior to ordering and ensure that you are rotating stock on a daily basis within the dry store, fridges and freezers.
