Job summary
As the Psychotherapist, you will be expected to contribute to the on-going development of the service, providing clinical expertise and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist psychotherapy input to the unit, which will include individual assessment, formulation, and individual therapy as appropriate.
You will pragmatically draw on a full range of psychotherapy theories to aid assessment, formulation and intervention relevant to this client group. The post holder will have the opportunity for clinical supervision and team reflection; and will be part of a small psychology team.
Main duties of the job
Clinical
Carry an individual caseload, under supervision, providing appropriate assessment, formulation and evidence-based therapy
Manage this caseload including formulating, planning, risk assessment and evaluating interventions
Contribute to delivery of the psychological groups programme
Assist in the development of the teams formulation and therapeutic skills
Support other members of the team, providing consultancy, and training as appropriate
Participate in a programme of continuing professional development and annual appraisal
To consult with colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team on psychological aspects of clients assessments/formulation and therapy plans
To attend MDT meetings and CPA reviews
To attend and engage with team supervision and development activities
To participate in other meetings or committees as necessary
Involves and engages users of the service and others in discussions about service direction, improvements and the values on which they are based
Actively creates opportunities to enable everyone to learn from each other and from external good practice
Works with others to make sure there is a clear direction for values, strategies and policies and leads the way when interests are in conflict
Evaluates the quality of own and others work and raises quality issues and related risks with the appropriate people

Schoen Clinic York is a highly specialised Hospital for adults in the North of England. We are currently based on the ground floor of Minster Grange as an eating disorder hospital, and in September 2024 will be expanding to cover the full building with other service lines including Dementia care. We are situated just off Haxby Road which is 10 minutes drive from York Train Station and 4 miles from the A64.
