Job summary

Main duties of the job

  • Acting as the main point of contact for consultants in your consultant peer groups and liaising with the wider organisation, to ensure that queries are actioned and resolved in a timely way
  • Triaging your consultant tasks and actioning any relevant admin tasks accordingly
  • Flagging any clinical tasks to the consultant in order of priority, and reassigning tasks to the relevant person/team as required
  • Letter and task monitoring
  • Liaising with patients, GPs and other health professionals and external agencies,
  • Communicating with your consultants when relevant information/updates/processes are announced
  • Monitoring outstanding payments for upcoming appointments and follow up on payments being made in line with our T&Cs
  • Monitoring consultant annual leave
  • Welcoming and assisting new consultants joining Psychiatry-UK
  • Ensuring that processes are being adhered and maintaining logs

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Medical Secretary. The post holder will be required to provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the clinical team.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a keen eye for detail, have excellent written and oral communication skills, accurate audio and copy typing skills, high level organisational skills.
