Job summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be part of a dynamic Executive Leadership Team responsible for directing and overseeing the operational activity of the organisation and the operationalisation of the company strategy. As an organisation passionate about the quality of patient care, the COO will lead our operational functions, business development and partner relations with a core ethos of doing it right.
You will contribute to the overall development of ECS and will influence the progress and achievement of the organisations corporate objectives whilst championing patient experience. This role will undertake the role of Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission.

Main duties of the job
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be part of a dynamic Executive Leadership Team responsible for directing and overseeing the operational activity of the organisation and the operationalisation of the company strategy.
The COO will be responsible for most operational functions including service delivery, finance, people management, legal, health and safety and facilities management.
The COO will lead business development and client and partner relationships.
You will contribute to the overall development of ECS and will influence the development and achievement of the organisations corporate objectives.
The COO will champion patient experience and will act as the registered manager for the Care Quality Commission.

Strategic Leadership
In conjunction with the Executive Leadership team, provide strong strategic leadership throughout the organisation, leading with compassion and upholding the ECS values.
Manage and contribute to systems throughout the organisation to provide safe and reliable care for its patients across all operational portfolios and practice settings.
Accountable for the safe and effective delivery of services across all operational portfolios.
Responsible for the execution of ECS strategic aims.
Contribute to the reduction of risk to patients and staff from company activities through risk management, ensuring that the organisation learns lessons from experience.
Manage and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Promote a supportive, fair and open culture that encourages and enables all parts of the workforce to meet required performance standards whilst feeling free to Speak Up without fear of consequence.
Support high standards of employment practice.
Promote the vision, values and goals of the organisation.

Business Development
Identify new business opportunities and lead activities to accelerate business development, win contracts, and capture market share.
Developing strategies for the growth of the organisation and making sure they are implemented.
When new clients are secured, manage the relationship to obtain further ongoing business.
Achieving the targets agreed for both revenue generation and profitability.
Develop client relationships and strengthen industry partnerships.
Facilitate handover of clients to the Operational teams on acceptance of proposals and with the Operational team to manage ongoing customer relations.
Support in the development and delivery of marketing activities.
Finance
Developing and controlling all operational budgets to ensure that the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters and to maintain the financial strength of the company.
Overseeing the operations of the organisation and making any necessary changes to meet business goals and projections.
People & Compliance
Be a highly visible and compassionate leader who role models ECS values.
Develop workforce plans to meet business goals and projections
Ensuring that all employees, including senior management, have access to mentoring and coaching.
Coordinating with the people and compliance team to ensure the success of recruitment and retention policies and processes.
