Job summary

A Bank Radiographic Assistant assists Radiographers, Sonographers, and Consultant Radiologists in a Radiology department, working under direct supervision. They support patient care, equipment, and administrative tasks within the department.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Preparing patients for examinations, including changing into gowns, assisting with procedures, and providing basic patient care like toileting.
  • Equipment Handling: Assisting with equipment setup and maintenance, including interventional procedures.
  • Image Processing: Assisting with image processing and filing.
  • Administrative Support: Managing patient flow, booking appointments, answering phones, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaising with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Training and Mentoring: May assist in the training and mentoring of new staff.
  • Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting with patients and staff.
  • Patient-Focused Care: A caring nature and empathy are essential for providing compassionate patient care.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
