Your Role:As a Respiratory Technician, you will:

• Perform a range of quality-assured respiratory tests, including spirometry, inhaler use, and asthma testing.
• Administer bronchodilators and conduct diagnostic assessments following national guidelines.
• Obtain brief medical histories to ensure safe practice.
• Accurately input test results and prepare electronic reports using our clinical system.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring quality control and reporting any issues.
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues via email, letter, and telephone.
• Carry out simple repairs on spirometry equipment and manage replacements as needed.

• Background:Ideal for individuals with a background in respiratory care or those who have specialized in other practices.
• Skills:Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and IT skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Qualifications & Training:

• Essential:
  • GCSEs in grades A-C in Maths and English
  • Diploma or approved respiratory qualification
  • Training certificates to the required level in specific healthcare skills (e.g., ARTP)

Job Types:Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay:£28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Expected Hours:25 37.5 per week

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• GCSEs in grades A-C in Maths and English
• Diploma or approved respiratory qualification
• Training certificates to the required level in specific healthcare skills (e.g., ARTP)

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working within the NHS/healthcare sector
• Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients

Desirable

• Experience of Respiratory Physiology
• Experience of working in the private healthcare sector
