Job summary

Medical Imaging Partnership are looking for a Respiratory Technician to join the Community Spirometry service based at Brighton Diagnostic Treatment Centre. You will play a crucial role in providing direct patient car and supporting the medical team in delivering high quality healthcare services. This role holder will work within their professional boundaries under supervision of the site Registered Manager and in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols.

We can accommodate full or part time hours, and can consider various flexible working patterns. We will also consider job shares.

Main duties of the job

  • Carry out a range of quality assured respiratory tests for the patients of MIP.
  • Clearly explains the procedure and performs spirometry, use of inhalers and asthma testing.
  • Administers bronchodilators.
  • Plan and perform diagnostic assessments in accordance with national guidelines for spirometry.

Job responsibilities

Medical Imaging Partnership are looking for a Respiratory Technician to join the Community Spirometry service based at Brighton Diagnostic Treatment Centre. You will play a crucial role in providing direct patient car and supporting the medical team in delivering high quality healthcare services.

This role holder will work within their professional boundaries under supervision of the site Registered Manager and in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols.

They will assist in the delivery of respiratory assessments in the prescribed programmes of patient care. The post holder will work to perform all tests in accordance with national guidelines in order to deliver a range of respiratory function tests for Medical Imaging Partnership.

This role would suit an individuals who have come from a Respiratory care background, or who have specialised within other practises.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of quality assured respiratory tests for the patients of MIP.
  • Clearly explains the procedure and performs spirometry, use of inhalers and asthma testing.
  • Administers bronchodilators.
  • Plan and perform diagnostic assessments in accordance with national guidelines for spirometry.
  • Obtain brief medical history prior to tested to ensure safer practice.
  • Accurately input test results and prepare electronic reports using the clinical system.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and quality control of all testing equipment and report any found issues or faults to the site RM.
  • Communicate with patients and colleagues using email, letter, and telephone.
  • Have a basic understanding of lung function tests.
  • Carry out any simple repairs of spirometry equipment and supply replacements when needed.
