ABOUT THE
ROLE
We are
looking for a highly motivated individual to provide essential non-clinical
support to the PICS medical team at Lings Bar Rehabilitation Wards (Castle,
Forest and John Proctor). You will play a key role in coordinating care between
PICS, NHFT and other providers, supporting safe and effective care for
residents during their stay and ensuring smooth transitions back to their usual
care providers. Working as part of a small team of GPs and ANPs, you will
contribute to delivering high-quality, patient focused care.
Main duties of the job
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Streamline
clinical efficiency: enhance
patient flow, reduce clinician time on non-clinical tasks, and support shorter
stays in rehab wards through efficient correspondence management and
prioritisation of tasks
- Collaborative,
patient-focused care: Build
strong links with GP practices, service colleagues, and communities to deliver
integrated care, including arranging follow-ups, coding, and referrals while
demonstrating flexibility and compassion
- Comprehensive
administrative support: Assist
GPs with clinical coding, arranging tests, handling forms, and liaising with
external agencies to ensure seamless patient care and continuity
KEY
REQUIREMENTS

GCSE
English and Maths Grade C and above or equivalent

RESPONSIBILITIES

Improving patient flow within working hours hours,
increasing the time efficiency of clinician time,

Support reduced length of stays within dedicated
rehab wards
-
Reduce time spent by clinicians on managing
correspondence and non-clinical activities related to the patient care on the 3
wards.
-
You will be expected to develop links with local GP
practices, colleagues within the service and local communities to ensure
delivery of integrated, patient focused care, demonstrating flexibility in the
role and a caring attitude towards patients.
-
Sorting clinical tasks and prioritising for the GP
in terms of actions. Signposting some post to others such as clinical
pharmacist etc.

Inputting and arranging clinical follow up and
ensuring QOF coding is up to date for the patients before being discharged to
their normal care provider.

Extracting
all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to notes
-
Arranging
appointments, referrals, tests and follow up appointments of patients
-
Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core
elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign.

Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies e.g.
getting an on call doctor on the phone to ask advice or arrange admission while
the GP can continue with their consultation(s)
