Job summary

This role would be suitable for someone with a proven analytics ability and an aptitude for data manipulation and visualisation. The person we are looking for will be highly numerate, a logical and methodical thinker, and a great communicator.

You will need to show an aptitude for assimilating new information, understanding the needs of customers, and an ability to communicate and present complex information. You will also be highly organised with a methodical approach to systems management and the ability to learn new skills and processes. You must also be able to work under time pressures, be reliable, and attentive to detail.

Main duties of the job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide robust data and reporting solutions that enable data informed decisions and robust insight to improve patient experiences and health outcomes

• To ensure the effective use of resources and budgets

• To enable, promote and support the intelligent use of data, information, knowledge, and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives

• To support both clinical and administrative teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks and projects are planned, managed, and delivered effectively.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification

• Experience of analysing large complex data sets

• Ability to manage data submissions

Job responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The primary aim of this role is to provide robust data and reporting solutions, enabling data informed decisions and robust insight, to improve patient experiences and health outcomes, and ensure effective use of resources and budgets.

The post is a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the intelligent use of data, information, knowledge, and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives.

This engaging role supports both clinical and administrative teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks and projects is planned, managed, and delivered effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the analyst may include any or all of the items in the following list, and any other duties deemed commensurate of this role.

The post holder will:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and document their data and reporting requirements and identify data solutions
  • Manage and develop data activities to query, cleanse, manipulate and extract data as required for reporting
  • Interpret, analyse, and present information in an effective and professional format as required
  • Develop reporting routines to automate routine data and reporting activities
  • Ensure timely, accurate, relevant, and complete production of the key performance indicators (KPIs) and other reporting requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business intelligence solutions, using the relevant software and conforming to NHS standards, to deliver complex information reports
  • Testing of reporting developments, in terms design and data quality
  • Promote the embedding of a data quality culture across the organisation
  • Reconcile reporting outputs against data sources to ensure accuracy of outputs
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis and insights as requested
  • Deal with queries, escalating complex and urgent issues as necessary
  • Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, and initiatives with the aim of providing information, technical and analytical advice
  • Work with team members to develop and implement projects, systems and solutions that will enable delivery of accurate and timely data and information
