Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Research Nurse to lead and support the development, operation and delivery of clinical research and training across Mid Nottinghamshire (Notts). This is a new post working across the primary / secondary care interface and we are looking for an autonomous practitioner to engage with GP practices, build links with local community and voluntary sector groups and raise awareness of clinical research.
You
will work collaboratively with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)
Clinical Research Network (CRN) East Midlands Primary Care Research Delivery
Team and the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Research and
Innovation Team to increase, facilitate and sustain the delivery of NIHR CRN
portfolio studies within Mid Notts.
Historically patients participating in research have not been from Mid Notts, due to social deprivation, distance from teaching hospitals and lack of proximity to large research centres. This post is integral to delivery of an innovative plan to increase recruitment of patients from the community to research studies. Increasingly patients spend shorter lengths of time in hospital and are cared for by the wider multi-disciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to influence and increase awareness of research in the community and build research capacity through applying your own initiative with support from senior team members.
