Job summary
We are looking for a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian to deliver the Cows Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA) service. Oviva provides digitally-enabled dietetic services to the NHS, including many successful medicines optimisation services to improve the care of infants with CMPA and reduce unnecessary prescribing spend on infant formula.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be confident in managing infants and children with non IgE CMPA, together with proven general paediatric dietetic experience You will be responsible for supporting the programme service manager and delivering our unique remote care pathway supported by Ovivas technology. You will engage with GPs and other common prescribers and audit the prescribing of specialist infant formula in line with local guidance. You will need to be a good communicator, working in partnership with service users, other agencies, health professionals and key stakeholders. You must be confident working autonomously.

The Role

Main Responsibilities
To deliver a remote rapid access clinic to patients with suspected non IgE cows milk protein allergy, via telephone, video call and app messaging. This will be, supported by Ovivas technology and, alongside the specialist paediatric dietitians.
Deliver care to patients with suspected or diagnosed with CMPA. This will involve ensuring the reintroduction challenge is conducted to confirm correct diagnosis, as well as checking and reviewing prescriptions are in line with the local guideline. You will also support parents/carers with weaning and the milk ladder in order to stop prescriptions in a timely manner.
The core focus of the service will be the management of infants prescribed formula feeds; the service may also include the review and management of paediatric ONS, to ensure these are appropriately prescribed
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records using Ovivas secure electronic medical record system
Review and develop patient resources including our unique Oviva learn education platform.
Maintaining adequate CPD and continuing to meet HCPC registration requirements
