GP Retainer - Bruton Surgery

Symphony Healthcare Services Limited

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Salary between £10,500 - £14,000 per session, based on experience and level of GP role undertaken in practice.

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated retainer GP to join our friendly practice team for up to 4 sessions per week. The post will come with formal mentorship, protected time for supervision as well as development opportunities.

We can be flexible with your working arrangements to meet caring or childcare responsibilities.

A special interest in a particular area of healthcare would be an advantage, but a willingness to muck in and work with our dedicated team is a must. We are a training practice at Bruton so well placed to support your needs as a retainer GP.

Bruton - Our Practice & Town

Our practice list is about 6,000 patients so small enough for you to know our patients well, but were also part of Symphony, the largest GP provider in Somerset so benefit from the experience and learning across a network of 20 practices. As a practice, we provide care as a multi-disciplinary team including GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners and are supported by an MSK physio, dermatology specialist and social prescribers while our Clinical Lead is the CVD lead for Symphony.

We can offer the best of both worlds a small, country practice in a rural idyll yet with the support of a network of practices behind you so you can concentrate on patient care.

Main duties of the job

You would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner. We can offer opportunities from trainee through salaried to consultant level GP posts depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice.

All GPs working for us are paid as Employees, unlike Partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care. We put patients first, with our Employed and Consultant GPs working flexibly according to need, so contributing to areas such as QOF, QI and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role. However, our Salaried GPs have a clearly defined job plan setting out the hours of work and responsibility and tasks associated with the role.

About us

Symphony Healthcare Services was established in 2016 as part of the award-winning Symphony Programme Vanguard, developing new models of care. We now support 20 practices across Somerset (including one in Devon) providing care for 120,000 patients.

We are a subsidiary of Yeovil Hospital, and providing NHS services is at the heart of what we do. Our vision is to ensure that primary care is sustainable for patients and practices in Somerset, and we aim to be a national exemplar for primary care provision. We work closely with our practice teams to support, develop and transform patient care and working practices with innovation and technology at the heart of what we do. We also work hard to make sure primary care has a loud voice in Somerset.

Bruton Surgery joined Symphony Healthcare Services in 2019 and with their support has implemented several new initiatives to improve care and how we work. Our practice is also working towards becoming a GP training practice. By working at scale in primary care in Somerset we can offer you the opportunity to develop specialist skills with the support of a larger organisation to develop your GP career.
