Job summary

A unique opportunity has arisen to join one of the most experienced and longstanding fertility nurse teams in the UK. We are happy wo welcome expereinced fertility nurses or nurses new to fertility that are looking to start their fertility careers in the exciting area of healthcare.

The Bristol Centre for Reproductive Medicine is one of the largest fertility clinics in the South West. At our purpose-built facility we use state of the art equipment and modern technologies to provide comprehensive fertility investigation and treatment for NHS and private patients.

We currently have a great opportunity to recruit Fertility Nurses to join our team. This role will be key to providing high quality care to patients throughout their fertility treatment at BCRM. To work as part of our team, ideally you should have fertility experience, although it's not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate. You will also need good communication skills, a caring attitude, ability to conduct yourself professionally and diligently in line with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology (HFEA) Authority's Code of Practice and a desire to work in this interesting field of healthcare.

Main duties of the job

  • Treatment Cycle setup including Patient Planning Appointments
  • Transvaginal Ultrasound Scanning (training will be given)
  • Booking Procedures and Treatments
  • Intrauterine Inseminations
  • Embryo Transfers
  • Directly liaising with patients via telephone and email

Job responsibilities

Duties will include preparing treatment cycles, offering patient care and support on arrival at the clinic, Transvaginal Ultrasound scanning of patients at all points of treatment, carrying out intrauterine insemination & embryo transfer procedures, carrying out Personal Planning appointments, organinsing patients medication and dealing with telephone and emails directly from patients into the nursing team.

Fertility experience is not essential for this role as full training will be given to the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Registered 1st level Nurse or Registered Midwife with NMC registration
  • Experience within fertility and/or women's health, although not essential
  • Knowledge and Experience
  • Interest in Womens Health
  • Knowledge of change management
  • Understanding of clinical governance and audit issues
  • IV drug administration
  • Venepuncture
