Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Marketing Executive to play a key role in supporting Kings Academy. The Academy, dedicated to training and meeting facilities for Nurses, Midwives, and Allied Health Professionals, also offers room hire and conference space, serving as a hub for the local community. Having opened in late summer 2023, we now seek a Marketing Executive to continue promoting our services, building a client database for courses and room hire, driving new business, and nurturing key relationships. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Academys growth. The role involves high levels of interaction with stakeholders and external clients. You will collaborate closely with Kings College Hospital and Kings Commercial Services Teams, including Subject Matter Experts and Clinical Trainers, as well as with the Centre Manager and the Head of Education and Training for Kings Commercial Services. Reporting key statistics and tracking trends are also essential for the Academy's growth.

As an integral figure to the foundations of Kings Academy, the Marketing Executive will play a key role in assisting to further establish the Academy.

Proactively promoting the services offered, building a database of prospective users for both courses and room hire.

Driving new business and developing currently key relationships.

Ensuring all avenues of promotion and distribution are fully exploited within target area to maximise opportunities for health care courses and room hire sales.

This is a new dedicated training facility and an exciting opportunity to be part of the Academys growth.

Kings Commercial Services Limited (KCS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kings College Hospital (the Trust).

The organisation seeks to extend the Trusts expertise to new markets and partners including healthcare management, training and healthcare recruitment.

The mission for KCS is to export the best of KCH internationally, focusing on specialist expertise in clinical peaks, and support the long-term sustainability in the Private Patient business.

Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Kings Commercial Services (KCS) are excited to announce a state-of-the-art training academy that opened in July 2023.

The new state-of-the-art facility located in Loughborough Junction, a five-minute walk from the Kings College Hospital site provides dedicated simulation, teaching and meeting rooms for nursing, midwifery and AHP staff, and education facilities across a floor space of 820m2.

King's Academy is situated in a newly refurbished unit located on Hinton Road. The Trust employs over 8,000 nurses, midwives and AHPs, and enhancing training and education opportunities for these staff groups is a key part of the Trusts five-year strategy and BOLD vision published last year.

The clinical Academy set up, first and foremost is to train the Trusts Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals. Nevertheless, such a set up can enable the Trust to take advantage of productivity gains and additional income by offering these same courses to other NHS organisations and internationally.

There are phases to the Kings Academy delivery:

1) Phase one - Delivery for KCH: brining training courses in-house to facilitate KCH staff CPD.

2) Phase two - Delivery for the ICS and wider NHS/Private Providers; commercialising CPD delivery to other potential clients.

3) Phase three In parallel KCS will be commercialising and selling CPD nursing programmes nationally and internationally.

As well as the Academy spaces being available to hire by external parties. The Academy is now in Phase 3.

The facility has two dedicated simulation rooms containing one and two bedded bays respectively and use the latest manikins to create and recreate immersive patient simulations.

Dedicated debriefing rooms will also be used for expert staff and teams to review the activity undertaken, exploring performance and delivering education, so creating a completely safe environment to learn in.

Separate teaching rooms will enable staff to practice their technical skills for procedures such as catheterisation and IV cannulation. The facility will also deliver in-person and online training and education opportunities for NHS staff from other Trusts, plus international nurses and organisations.

The facility is being funded by and delivered in partnership with Kings Commercial Services, which works in the UK and internationally on a range of projects and initiatives to generate funds for the Trust to support staff, and to improve care for NHS patients.

This is an exciting brand new role for a new venue space. Kings Academy, are looking for a proactive Marketing Executive on a 4 months fixed term basis. In this role you will be at the forefront of Brand Management promoting the Academy and all it has to offer. This is a standalone role working closely with the Centre manager and Head of Education and Training for KCS.

The Academy is now fully operational and the selected post holder will be a key part to help drive the business forward, finding key target audiences to use the facilities.

The core values of the Academy is to deliver training by leading professionals to aid in the continual development of Healthcare professionals. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a people person has fantastic attention to detail, and is looking to progress in a fast paced dynamic varied role, being part of something unique.

This role is hybrid with any office days will be based in Kings Commercial Services, Kings Academy, London and the main purpose of the role will be:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategy for Kings Academy
  • Seek out, critically assess and evaluate new opportunities in line with Kings Academys core values.
  • Develop marketing and communications material such as flyers, social media posts and features to promote specific programmes and the Academy Room hire space, both internally within Trust and externally to previous clients and new prospects.
  • Develop, execute, and optimise email marketing campaigns to nurture leads, retain customers, and drive conversions.
  • Plan and implement offline marketing strategies printed materials to reach target audiences effectively.
  • Monitor and optimize referral campaigns, track referral success metrics, and implement strategies to increase referral engagement
  • Assist in planning digital marketing campaigns, providing support in defining objectives, identifying target audiences, and coordinating campaign logistics that can be used as an ongoing tool.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies across various platforms to increase brand visibility, engagement, and traffic
  • Aid in the management of content on our digital platforms, such as email, social media, and online advertising, by helping with tools to schedule and monitor engagement
  • Implement our sales and digital marketing strategy: You will devise appropriate campaigns, cold calls and direct sales to attract new candidates and organisations to the training and room hire opportunities available at the Academy.
