Job summary
We are currently seeking a Procurement professional to join the Clinical Procurement team as a Procurement Specialist
You will be a very motivated professional which will include being responsible for the following:
To develop and lead sourcing strategies for low to medium spend and low to medium risk requirements.
To manage catalogues for their categories and to ensure these are renegotiated before expiring
To support cross-functional procurement / sourcing teams to develop and implement category and sourcing strategies for high spend, high risk, complex requirements.
To deliver value to the Trust.
To achieve year on year cash releasing and cost avoidance savings.
To ensure policies and operational practices comply with the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs), and relevant legislation and other statutory requirements and that they provide effective procurement of all categories of services and commodities.
To develop an excellent working relationship with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is of a high standard.
To appropriately challenge current supply arrangements.
To manage contracts and suppliers for low to medium spend and low to medium risk requirements.
To support with re-negotiating contracts, where appropriate
Main duties of the job
Experience of working within a procurement function
Knowledge of core procurement activity & principles
Experience of providing procurement advice as well as supporting and
leading sourcing events in compliance with public or private
procurement regulations, including EU and UK public Procurement
directives, where relevant
Experience of managing contracts and suppliers
Understanding of commercial principles of contracting and negotiation
Appreciation and understanding of the application of whole life costing
& total cost of ownership principles
Experience in managing stakeholders
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, with the
ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external
stakeholders with differing professions and backgrounds.

Well-developed negotiation, persuasive, facilitating, and influencing skills, with both staff members and suppliers
Well organised and able to prioritise workload, requiring the minimum of supervision
Qualifications:Educated to degree level or with equivalent work experience within a procurement / supplies function CIPS Qualified to Diploma level (L4) or student member working towards this goal
