Job summary
Staff management, training and development pharmacy service provided is patient focused.
To provide professional leadership and advice to all pharmacy staff working for the company. To provide clinical and professional leadership and supervision of the pharmacy team, with appropriate record keeping. To contribute to the identification of appropriate opportunities and support for training and development of pharmacy staff and monitoring that they are acting in accordance with the Code of Ethics and requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Make self-available to flexibly contribute to ensuring that the pharmacy is adequately staffed to meet expected workload. Operational Management all activity undertaken is consistent with maintaining registration of the premises with GPhC. Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist)
To clearly communicate and document arrangements which are to apply during the absence of the responsible pharmacist from the premises. prescription records are legally compliant, in accordance with GPhC guidance.
To work with prescribers, KCH clinical pharmacists and non-medical prescribers to enhance and develop the out-patient pharmacy service that patients receive.
Main duties of the job
Understanding of Primary and Secondary Care prescribing issues Extensive knowledge of the legislation and guidance relating to management of medicines Leadership & Team skills: supervision and delegation Communication and interpersonal skills Effective work with other disciplines Able to deal sensitively with difficult, angry, annoyed patients and/or healthcare colleagues Able to balance conflicting priorities Able to analyse situations, demonstrate clear thinking make and defend own and others decisions/judgements
